Hope a lot of the older quiz show fans vote as there are a lot of classics on here without the razzamatazz of modern television imagery. Guess the popular ones today might get the highest votes 🙁

Many of the quizzes were great because of the host. Bob Monkhouse for instance. They’ll probably never be the same under a different quizmaster. Ask the Family was a good quiz, but the headmasterly Robert Robinson did spoil it from time to time. They are all of their age and may be better left in our fond memories of the past.

I was quite selective in my choices and only voted for 5. In my opinion some of the shows should not have been on the list and there was a glaring omission, where was Sale of the Century? It will be fascinating to see the final results.

Being Dutch I sometimes have really difficulty following the queick questions, but I love these shows so much! I always watch them when I can receive them and they’re on! Thanx for taking care of foreigners too!

We can always add ones we’ve missed. Providing they are popular. Winner Takes All is now added 🙂

The chase has to be my top quiz show, as its not long winded like some shows, the questions are good general knowledge standard. Brad is hilarious and the chasers are all very good. A well deserved winner in my eyes!

Family Fortunes is totally based on polls. No quiz questions or lists are used which deems it a game show, not a quiz show. Sorry to dissapoint as we love the show 🙂

I love quiz shows (and game shows in general) and voted for something I remember fondly in my childhood but I did notice that 100% isn’t there

Well we did have a look at 100% but this Channel 5 production did not make the final selection – sorry if it was one of your all time favs!

15/1 just because of the utter deluge of questions. Everything else is sludge in comparison.

So 100% didn’t make the final selection and Family Fortunes was barred because “it has no quiz questions”

Meanwhile You Bet is in – despite it being a stunt show, Revenge of the Egghead is in despite being a short run load of piffle and no place for Shafted.

    A bizarre little poll!!!!!

Andy, thanks for your honest reply. You Bet did have elements in the show where contestants had to guess face pics of music clips although no actual quiz questions were asked, thus being branded in our opinion quiz show. Not every quiz show was added as that would be many hundred down the years but we have added your suggestions of 100% and one we had forgot Shafted. Incidentally, Kilroy’s show got less of an audience than Revenge but taking in lots of factors like time aired, etc this can distort facts. Thanks for voting 🙂

    Thanks for the reply

By the way your web counter seems to be way off – it’s definitely not recording visits – I arrived it said 982856, then I refreshed – 862 then another refresh 868 – so instead of recording me as one visit it’s recorded me as 12 visits

Our tech dept say all visits are recorded seperately as it filters out same ip address users. It’s all a bit techy for us but our host server verifies the stats so it must be pretty accurate.
