Our 2016 #YorkWhizz proved a great success….
On Thursday 18th May, saw over 70 quizzers descend on the Gillygate pub in York to register for the annual York Pub quiz crawl. Organisers ‘Enigmatist‘ John & Jane (with a little help from some of the Quiz Britain staff who came along) took the entry fees and gave out the rules and first round of the quiz.
Second pub was the Three Legged Mare or affectionately known as the ‘wonky donkey’, who entered a team from their York Brewery staff. Third pub was the haunted Snickleway and a short stroll to the 4th on the crawl – the Golden Slipper. Not far to the 5th, the Royal Oak as it was next door! Lastly it was last year’s winners The Black Horse.
With the answers and results in, the overall winners were announced.
As it was all about raising money for charity with 60% of the total going to the winning team’s chosen charity York Samaritans. The sum was £219 with £146 going to the runners up chosen charity Guide Dogs For The Blind.
So the 2016 winners of the YorkWhizz was…..
The Black and Spile
A big thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great night and to all the organisers who made it run so smoothly.
See you all next year hopefully!
